    Martha Ann Rushing, 62, of Malvern passed away July 11, 2016. She was born to Dr. James and Virginia Rushing on June 9, 1954 in Malvern AR. Martha was an LPN who specialized in geriatric nursing which was her passion. She also had an appreciation and love for Native American Art.

    Martha is preceded in death by her father, Dr. James Rushing.

    Martha is survived by her mother, Virginia Rushing of Malvern; her son, Eric Scott Carrier of CA; her brother, Jimmy Autry (Cynthia) Rushing of Marshall, TX; and her sister, Gail Elaine Rushing of Dallas, TX. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and her baby Chihuahua “Pepper” that she loved very much.

    Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Atkinson Chapel with Bro. Dave Cash officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Blalock, George Green, Hunter Rushing and Dr. Phillip Nix.

    So many fond memories of visits and fun from days gone by. My heartfelt prayers for Aunt Virginia, Eric, Gail, and Jimmy. RIP Cousin Martha.

    Please know that you are all in my heart and prayers. While I was Jimmy's age, I certainly knew Martha at church and school. 62 is certainly too young, especially for all of the wonderful things she was doing. She will be in your hearts forever.
